Specializing in animal care and the science of wildlife and wildlife conservation, the National Zoological Park is a branch of the Smithsonian Institution. It's home to thousands of animals from all over the world, including Asian elephants, tigers, orangutans, bears and giant pandas. The park is located in the northwest region of Washington, D.C., just south of Rock Creek Park.
